Use Readyboost in Vista
Shows how to manually enable ReadyBoost for a compatible device using VistaTo be Vista ReadyBoost compatible your device needs to be larger than 256MB in size with at least 230MB free. It needs to be able the perform random 4K reads at 2.5MB per second or better and perform 512KB writes at 1.7MB or better. ReadyBoost will support devices up to 32GB in either FAT or NTFS, but only up to 4GB on FAT32 devices.(USB 1.0 and 1.1 are not supported, the same for external USB memory card readers.) -Thanks NetworkComputing.comVideo provided for those who cannot follow directions. Right click on your compatible device (Flash Drive or Memory Card with compatible reader)4. Click on "Properties", and navigate to the "ReadyBoost" tab along the top5. Click on the "Use this Device" radio button (clickable circle), and select the amount of the device you want to use, Windows usually has a recommended amount of space to use.6. Click "OK", and wait, it usually takes a few seconds to engageThat's it, you are now using your device as RAM, I recommend disenabling ReadyBoost for your device before removing it (though I have heard all the data on the drive is backed up elsewhere and it SHOULDN'T matter), simply navigate back to the ReadyBoost tab as described above, and "Safely Remove" your deviceVideo provided for those who cannot follow directions.
