Nowadays, we have many technological resources at our disposal. Almost everyone has smartphones with internet access and other amenities. The only problem with these devices is the battery life. Excess functions of modern gadgets makes energy always ends too soon.

And if by chance you are in a location that does not have electricity, like in the woods or camping in the mountains? It is not uncommon people go astray and fail to use the GPS, mainly because the cell may have run out of battery.

To avoid these problems, you can manufacture a portable charger and powered by 9 volt batteries. It takes only a little knowledge in welding and electronics. Follow the instructions and see that the process is not as complicated as it seems.

The necessary electronics
1 voltage regulator 5 volts model 7805;
1 electrolytic capacitor 100 uF;
1 0.1 uF capacitor;
1 resistor 150 OHMs;
1 green LED;
1 female USB connector;
1 battery connector;
1 key to turn on and off the set;
1 breadboard to mount the set;
1 9-volt battery.
Just you take this list at any electronics store to purchase everything with ease. Besides these, we also use a plastic container that will serve as housing for our charger. You can choose the one they find most convenient.

To make the assembly, soldering iron and use various tools, plus a few pieces of copper wire to connect the components. The cuts were made in plastic container with a drill common. To secure the items within the container, we use hot glue.

Step 1: Starting the assembly

The first step of assembly is the preparation of a breadboard. If you purchased a new in store, it is possible that it is very large, so we need to cut a piece. Let's cut the piece about the size of half of our plastic container.

Soon after, we began to place the material on the board. See the circuit design.

Note that there are two power lines crossing all: positive and negative. All components also have two connectors, one positive and one negative. We must pay close attention to not mount materials inverted way, as this may damage them.

The only component that has three connectors is the voltage regulator because it has an input port, an output port and a negative point.

Just you follow the circuit design and have no problems.

Before soldering everything on the plate, we put the pieces according to the drawing. Positioned, then the 100 uF capacitor, the voltage regulator, the second capacitor and resistor. The USB connector female should get stuck on the edge of the plate, as it will be embedded in our plastic container. The LED should be parallel to USB connector, as well as the switch to turn on and off the equipment.

After position ourselves all components on the board, solder and cut rods. Now simply attach the contacts according to the drawing. As we are using a breadboard and not a printed circuit board, we need to unite all contacts with small copper wires.

The final project should look like.

After assembling everything, we will check the voltages with a multimeter. Note that the battery voltage varies between eight and nine-volt. Now, to position ourselves at the meter outlet, ie, the USB connector, verify that the voltage varies between 4.8 and 5.1 volts. This is the voltage required to charge the battery of the gadget. A value greater than this could damage the unit, so we need the voltage regulator. A smaller value would not be enough to charge the batteries.

Step 2: Putting in the case

Now, we need to position our project within the plastic holder. Before doing so, however, we bend the wires - very carefully - down plate. A piece of tape just to protect everything should be enough to hold them in place.

Then we place the card inside the case and measure the size of the connectors, because we need to make room to place the USB key and the LED on and off. To cut, we can use a stylus, a drill or other cutting tool.

After opening the holes of the required size, the assembly positioned within the container. With a little hot glue, hold the plate and forbade the openings. To secure the battery in place, we can use a double-sided tape, but this is optional.

Ready! Now just carry this accessory with you whenever you travel.

recommendations
Importantly, the amount of cargo carried by this device is proportional to the quality of the battery used. An alkaline, for example, can provide much more energy than a regular battery. It is also possible to use rechargeable batteries.

Enjoyed the experience? It seems a little complicated at first, but with good will, patience and the proper materials, you can build your loader quickly.

To do this, simply follow the instructions you.
