The Almighty Grill........A dad must. Instead building my dad something just huge I settled for something smaller than a card. Literally! This grill stands about 5 inches tall and is designed (by me) to hold a phone! This lil' guy has an opening top, real looking flames, and realistic looking doors!
Now your probably thinking that this is cheap and you want to by something for your dad not make something for him and that he'll like a store bought gift better......well.....your wrong. Dads love homemade gifts sometimes even more than store bought gifts and if you think I'm wrong try making this and giving it to him as a test!

-Suplies-

-card board-
-knife or scissors-
-grey,orange and black paint-
-black glove-
-ruler-
-paint brush-
-Hot glue gun-

Now I was able to do this for free and hope that you can too! Its very simple to build and I just know that any dad will love this!

Step 1: Top And Bottom

The first step is to cut out the top and bottom pieces and when I say top I don't mean the lid.Lets begin.Start by taking your dads phone. Once you have the phone trace a line around it with a pencil and cut the shape out.Do this twice. These pieces will be the top and bottom and to make things a bit easier label them so that when your putting the grill together. These pieces play an important role so they need to be perfect.
Well almost perfect. 0_o

Step 2: Front and Back

So the next thing to do is the front back and sides. Now this step is not exactly the easiest step but you can do it!So to start take the pieces you just cut out and lay them flat on the card board and trace them on accept for one of the long ends.Once having done this add about an inch in length to the not traced end.
After doing this use a ruler to measure about an inch from the side of the piece and make a mark.Line your ruler up vertically with the mark and make a measurement of an inch up and mark, and do this on both sides then connect all the dots with lines. After connecting the dots cut two slits where the vertical line is.
You want to now take the flap like part and bend it back as far as it will go.

Step 3: Sides

So now to the sides what I did was using the pieces cut out in the first step i used the width end to draw a straight line that will be the top and the bottom of the side then the sides of the side (I know its confusing) I made by taking the pieces that were cut in step 2 and used the long end to draw lines that would be the sides of the piece were working on.Do this twice and your good to go!

Step 4: The lid

To make the lid cut a piece the width of the side of the actual grill an about a inch tall at the highest point because its going to need to curve not a perfect curve but close enough. To do this just line them up on top of each other and cut a curve though both pieces.
Now depending on the size of your soon to be grill the lid may be smaller or larger than mine but the size of mine was about 4 inches by 5 inches. The way I made the lid curve was by taking my fingers and pushing them in to the cardboard piece while using my thumb to brace it so i didn't make the little crack like things in it.I then took three pieces of cardboard 1/2 an inch by 2 1/2 and bent each in half then glued one end to the lid and the other end to the back piece of the grill.

Step 5: Hot glueing

This is the easiest and hardest step. All you have to do is glue it together easy right?Yes and no,it's easy if you know what pieces to glue together if not your jammed thats why I said to label the pieces in the start .So let get started by glueing the front, back, and sides.
Start by glueing the right side to the bottom piece cut in step one .After its dry glue the flap on to the bottom.Repeat this step all the way around the bottom until all all sides are glued on.Now glue the top piece on.You should now have a grill looking box piece.

Step 6: Fire and finish

Take your black gloves and rip them up a bit then glue them on the top piece.

So the next thing that you can do which is not needed is add some extra things such as an extra burner as I added or doors on the front.I did both of these and mine turned out pretty well so enjoy!!Also you can also paint details grey or silver to finish up!

I hope your dad enjoys the gift and has a good fathers day!
