DIY: Make Your Own Deodorant
DIY: Make Your Own Deodorant
Ingredients: 1/4 cup Baking Soda 1/4 cup Arrowroot Powder (can I just say this was really hard to find! I eventually found it at Hyvee) 4 tablespoons Coconut Oil 10 drops of essential oil (I chose Sweet Orange) A jar with a lid First in a small bowl, mix up all the dry ingredients. Then start to add the oils a little at a time. Mix with a fork until you get the consistency that you like. I actually had trouble with this, so I nuked it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. It made it liquidy (which was easy to stir & then pour into my jar), but then it solidified back up.

Now, to apply it, you take a small amount in your fingers and kinda warm it up but rubbing your fingers together. then rub it in each armpit. You only need to apply it once! The other nice thing, no more deodorant marks on your shirts! Also, this is super cheap to make as well since the ingredients last a long time.

I've been using this deodorant since 10/21/11... and I love it! I've found that it works better than normal store bought deodorant. The first few days of using it I had a little extra sweat, but it only took 2 days for my body to adjust to not having Aluminum chlorohydrate, aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly or any aluminum compounds.
